International Relationship : the University of Hochshule in Germany wishes to establish a partnership with the University of Hochshule

Meeting report with the President of the University of Antananarivo and his staff is to discuss about the opportunities concerning the mobility of students, researchers, and teachers

Many institutions around the world wishes to establish a strong relationship with the University of Antananarivo . This relationship can lead to developing program in order to promote career guidance and research project for the University of Antananarivo, and her partners. In that aspect, the University of Hochschule in Germany conducted Pr Manfred Meyer, Vice-president in charge of International Relationship, to visit the University of Antananarivo for establishing a cooperation during the week of 26th September 2022. The aim of his meeting with the President of the University of Antananarivo and his staff is to discuss about the opportunities concerning the mobility of students, researchers, and teachers for the two universities. A memorandum of understanding is one of the priorities to realize for such convention.

The suggestion of the University of Hochschule is to offer the possiblity for Madagascar to join a team of intercultural background of students and teachers from Peru, Namibia, Indonesia, and Germany in order to work on projects during a semester for example. This can contribute to a training course like masterclass during two weeks through a travel. Then the project can be sustained online. The concept of GIPE, the Global Intercultural Project Exchange, is one of the solutions for financing such program. This is not the only way for funding such exchange. The University of Antananarivo can apply in many international programs like the Program Erasmus including the cooperation with three universities, the DAAD that support academic exchanges, or the UNDP. Some compagnies in Germany or in Madagascar show a kin interest on supporting specific activities linked with educational or scientific purposes. So it will be beneficial to look for funding for this cooperation.

During his visit of the University of Antananarivo, Pr Manfred Meyer had the opportunity to make a tour of the Campus of Ambohitsaina. He could meet some members of the staff working on international cooperation matters. The Institute of Energy Mastering who worked already with a Germany institute GIZ, appreciates his visit for future collaboration. As Pr Manfred is skilled in computer sciences, he made exchanges with the students of Faculty of Sciences in Master I of Mathematics, Informatics, and Applied Statistics by identifying their interest. He learned also about some training programs in the Applied Physic Department, such as Signals and Physical Systems Engineering, Renewable Energy, and Non-destructive Technologies. Another meeting has been organized also for the Polytechnical High School. Pr Mandfred Meyer met some responsible like the Dean, the chiefs of department of Electronic, Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Telecommunication, and Car Engineering. As some of Pr Manfred's colleagues in Germany work on projects like biomimetics, mechatronics, computer sciences, …, many fields can be subject of cooperation. In the next process, the University of Antananarivo, and the University of Hochshule wish to establish a convention in a form of a memorandum of understanding.
